Bhubaneswar, Dec 13: Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant reached Odisha on Saturday ahead of an official program at Cuttack.

On his first visit to the state after assuming the office of the CJI, Justice Surya Kant will grace a symposium on ‘Ensuring Justice for the Common Man: Strategies for Reducing Litigation Costs and Delays’ at Saheed Bhawan in Cuttack tomorrow.

Sources said that, the CJI reached at the BPI Airport in Bhubaneswar this evening. He was received by Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court with some key officials of the Odisha government on his arrival.

The CJI is scheduled to leave for Cuttack tomorrow for the symposium organised by the Orissa High Court Bar Association (HCBA).

Here, the CJI will present his keynote address on ‘Ensuring Justice for the Common Man: Strategies for Reducing Litigation Costs and Delays’.

Chief Justice of Orissa High Court Justice Harish Tandon will be the chief speaker, while Advocate General Pitambar Acharya and Chairman of Odisha State Bar Council, Sitanshu Mohan Dwibedy, will be the guests of honour on the occasion.

Legal experts, advocates, and judicial officers will also share their views on the topic with discussing key issues related to justice delivery system, judicial reforms & their resolves.
