Cuttack,Feb 19: In a tragic incident, three members of a family became critical after a firecracker explosion in Cuttack City on Thursday.

The Incident took place at Mahajanpur village under Jagatpur police limits.

The injured have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for resuscitaion.

According to reports, one Govinda Nayak was allegedly preparing firecrackers ahead of the Dola Yatra. While he was piling firecrackers at his home in the evening, they blew off all of a sudden. Following the powerful explosion, two rooms were completely gutted leaving 3 women members of Govinda’s family critically charred.

Following the thundering explosion, neighbours rushed the injured ones to SCB Hospital for treatment.

On being informed the Jagatpur police visited the spot and launched an investigation to ascertain the nature of explosion.
