Dhenkanal, Feb 19: Former Panchayati Raj Minister Nabin Chandra Narayan Das on Monday resigned from Congress.
Veteran Congress leader Das announced his resignation from the primary membership of the party during a press meet in Dhenkanal.
Responding to reporters, Das said, “I resigned as a primary member of the Congress Party over leadership issue in the state unit of the party. The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee president only thinks about his growth, not the growth of the party. Our constructive opinions regarding the improvement of the party are sidelined.”
On being asked about his mission, Das said that he has not yet decided regarding his futuristic roadmap.
Das had served as a minister of Education and Commerce portfolios along with the PR Department. He had started his political debut as Chairman of Dhenkanal Municipality.
Das’s resignation from the Congress Party is considered to be a jolt for the Congress district organisation in Dhenkanal.
