Bhubaneswar, March 5: Former Minister and Bhandaripokhari MLA Prafulla Samal’s son Prayaskanti deposed before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Being summoned by the Central Enforcement Agency,Samal appeared before the sleuths and faced a rigorous grill in connection with the financial deals of the Barapada Engineering College.
On February 17, the ED asked the father-son duo to appear before it with all the relevant documents pertaining to financial irregularities in Barapada Engineering College.
Earlier, Prafulla Samal ad appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on February 28 who was grilled for as many as 8-hours continuously.
Samal and his son are alleged to have swindled crores of rupees collected from students as fees to buy lands and flats in Bhubaneswar and other places.
On February 15, the ED had raided at least 10 locations related to the Samal family, including six places in Bhadrak and four places in Bhubaneswar.
The sleuths had seized a high-end car and Rs 10 lakh cash from his son Prayaskanti’s residence at Palaspalli in Bhubaneswar during the raid.
ED had raided the house of the former principal of Barapada Engineering College which is being run by Samal.
