Kendrapara, Oct 17: Former BJD MP from Kendrapara Prabhat Samantaray passed away at the age of 78 in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
His son, Siddharth Samantaray confirmed the news of his demise.
According to his son, Samantaray suffered a brain stroke that led to his demise.
Born on 22nd April 1950, he was an active member of the Biju Janata Dal and served as a Member of Parliament from Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency for two terms.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha in both the 1998 and 1999 elections, having successfully contested as a BJD candidate. His legacy of dedicated service and leadership will undoubtedly continue to inspire future generations in the political arena.
Following his demise, a pall of gloom descended in nearby areas.
