Keonjhar, Mar 6: In a landmark judgment, the Additional District & Sessions Judge of Keonjhar on Wednesday awarded death sentence to five persons for their involvement in 2019 Ramchandra Behera murder case. The gruesome incident took place in Dhakotha village, located under the Ghasipura Assembly Constituency of Keonjhar.
Sanjay Prusty, Ajit Prusty, Arun Prusty, Alekh Prusty, and Dola Boitei were all handed the death penalty by the court, based on the statements provided by 53 witnesses. However, one of the accused, Pramod Das, who was a minor at the time of the crime, is currently in the custody of the Keonjhar Juvenile Justice Board.
The bone chilling incident occured on March 25, 2019, around 10:00 PM, when the accused lured Ramchandra from his home, only to brutally end his life by severing his lower and upper limbs in a heinous act of violence. The verdict serves as a testament to the pursuit of justice and the determination of the legal system to hold perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
