​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: Almost all maternal uncles’ homes in Odisha are packing up marvellous gifts for their nephews and nieces, all in advance for the come Prathamastami, popular as ‘Podhuan Astami’. Meanwhile, the ‘Podhuan Yatra’ committee of Prachi Madhab Kshetra is readying ‘Astami Bhara’ for Lord Jagannath to mark the Trinities’ Podhuan Astami rituals.

Whereas, a standing committee looks after the annual rituals of the Madhaba shrine, in a first a dedicated sub-committee was formed to oversee Podhuan Bhara, aiming a grandeur festivity this year.

According to the tradition and directives of Almanac, the lot of Podhuan Bhara for the Lord Jagannath and his siblings, will leave for Puri on the seventh day of holy month of Margasira.

A preparatory meeting relating to the Podhuan Bhara and the famous Podhuan Yatra was convened on the Bakreswar Temple Campus at Bhingarapur village on Monday.During the review, a number of sub-committees were constituted for the significant festivities ahead. According to the resolution, Rajanikant Jena was assigned as Chief Co-ordinator of the sub-committees.

Among others, servitors of the Madhaba shrine including Trilochan Puspalaka, Ashok Puspalaka, Kailash Chandra Muduli & Sukanta Jena along with Satyabrata Jena, Rajanikant Jena, Sudhanshu Sekhar Patra, Narendra Patra, Ashok Kumar Khuntia, Antaryami Jena, Arun Jena, Narendra Kumar Panda, Krushna Mohan Jena and Bijaya Mohanty attended the meeting.
