Rawalpindi, Aug 24: The first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh seems to be heading towards a tame draw, unless there is any dramatic twist on the final two-days of the game.
Bangladesh scored 565/10 in 167.3 overs in reply to Pakistan's first innings score of 448/6 (declared).
The star performer for the visitors was seasoned campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim, who proved his class and experience with a master-class 191.He hit Pakistani bowlers all round the park with authority.
Rahim though missed the double ton, but he ensured that Bangladesh have the upper hand in the first Test, with a vital 117 runs first innings lead.
The other contributors were opener Shadman Islam (93), Mominul Haque (50), keeper Litton Das (56) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (77).
For the hosts, pacer Naseem Shah top scored the bowling chart with a 3 for 93 figure.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, Khurram Shahzad and Mohammed Ali had two scalps each.
As both sides complete their first innings on Day 4, Saturday, the game appeared to be heading towards a tame draw.
But if there is any dramatic twist, there may be a surprise result on the final day..
The second and final Test of the two-match series, will be played at the same venue, here (Rawalpindi) as well and will begin on September 4 next.
