Puri, June 1: A fire erupted in a garbage heap near the Nakachana gate of the Sri Gundicha temple in Puri on Saturday morning, causing concern among locals and temple authorities.
It is suspected that some miscreants might have set fire on garbage, which swiftly engulfed the entire heap. Prompt action was taken as the fire tenders unit rushed to the spot and successfully controlled the blaze, preventing any casualties.
Firefighters immediately responded to the alert and initiated efforts to extinguish the flames, despite facing challenges posed by heavy smoke emanating from the fire.
As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains elusive, prompting authorities to investigate further into the incident.
