Bhubaneswar, May 6: A bus traveling on the Nandankanan route (Route No. 11) from Bhubaneswar Railway Station caught fire today morning. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The fire broke out near Chandrasekharpur, where passengers noticed thick smoke emanating from the bus. The strong smell of burning and smoke quickly alarmed passengers, causing panic among them.
Initial reports suggest that the fire could have been triggered by a short circuit or some other technical malfunction in the vehicle. As the fire spread, passengers began shouting, meanwhile, the bus driver managed to stop the bus.
Being informed, fire brigade personnel reached the spot to bring the situation under control. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the fire.
