Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: The final voter list in Odisha will be published on January 5,said Chief Electoral Officer, Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Wednesday.
While presiding a meeting relating to the 2024 election, Dhal said preparations for the 2024 general elections are in the final stage.
During the meeting with members of all registered political parties in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon, Dhal underscored the need for hastening the preparation of an error-free voter list.
"The draft voter list will be published on October 27, while the final voters’ list will be out on January 5, 2024”, said Dhal.
He further stated that the draft voter list will be published in the offices of all the sub-collectors while a date has been fixed for rectification of errors.
Similarly, complaints regarding anomalies and errors will be received from the public between October 27 and December 9 while hearing of complaints will be held by December 26.
According a press release issued by the CEO office, major youths will be included in the voter list through special drives which will be organised on November 5, 11, 19 and 25. The booth-level officer will be present at the special drives to assist the officials engaged in the programme.
