International hockey secured a massive boost as the International Hockey Federation established a multi-year alliance with JSW, an Indian multinational conglomerate active in steel, energy, infrastructure, and automotive sectors. This commercial agreement aims to expand the game worldwide, beginning officially with the upcoming 2026 World Cup hosted jointly across Belgium and the Netherlands.

Having operations in India, North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, the company actively nurtures top-tier athletic talent. Its steady involvement in the Hockey India League demonstrates a long-standing commitment to improving Indian sports infrastructure. This move aligns with broader initiatives in sports powerhouses like Odisha, where world-class stadiums and grassroots investments have successfully placed hockey back into national prominent focus.

FIH President Tayyab Ikram expressed optimism about the long-term impact of this cooperation. He highlighted how JSW’s dedication toward backing athletes directly aligns with the federation's mission to make the sport accessible to younger audiences globally. Echoing those feelings, Parth Jindal, Founder and Director of JSW Sports, stressed that sports hold immense potential to build stronger communities. Jindal noted that contributing to international hockey enables the company to create sustainable pathways for upcoming players while elevating India’s footprint on the global sporting stage.
