Bhubaneswar, December 21: Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionrate police arrested two men for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl inside a rented house after luring her with a fake job offer.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on December 18.

According to police report, the teenager was sexually assaulted against her will by the accused at the accommodation. A case has been registered at Shaheed Nagar Police Station.

Both suspects were presented before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

This is the second such case of sexual assault involving a minor in Bhubaneswar within ten days.

On December 10, another 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped near the Dhalui Peace Pagoda on the city’s outskirts. In that case, police arrested three individuals, and investigations remain ongoing.
