Bhubaneswar, July 25: Farmers can now pay electricity bills and outstanding dues in easy instalments.
The government of Odisha on Thursday relaxed the time for payment of arrear electricity bills by the farmers having lift irrigation facilities.
According to a release issued by the Deputy CM’s office, the time limit for payment of arrear electricity bills of lift irrigation consumers in the current Kharif season has been extended.
Dy. CM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo spoke to the Director of the Agriculture Department and power distribution companies (Discoms) in this regard.
According to the decision, all lift irrigation consumers have been asked to pay their current electricity bills regularly. While the Discoms allowed payment of arrear electricity bills through as many as eight easy installments by March 2025.
