Rourkela, Jul 20: A distressing scene has emerged at the beginning of the farming season in Sundargarh, as hundreds of farmers were seen waiting in long queues to collect essential fertilisers.

Farmers gathered outside the R.C.M.S (Regulated Cooperative Marketing Society) office under Sundargarh Municipality to purchase urea fertiliser, which is crucial for agricultural activities. Many farmers reportedly arrived as early as 3 am and waited overnight in front of the office.

To secure their place in the queue, several farmers kept their Aadhaar cards and other belongings on the roadside, using bricks and stones to mark their positions while waiting for their turn.

The long queues have raised concerns among farmers regarding the availability and timely supply of fertilisers during the crucial crop season. Farmers are demanding adequate availability of urea to ensure smooth agricultural operations.
