Balangir, Aug 26: Cracking the whip against fraudulent teachers, Odisha government on Saturday suspended two lecturers of Balangir district for furnishing fake mark sheets to get the job.
The fake lecturers have been identified as Narendra Nag, a teacher of political science and Lingaraj Meher, Odia lecturer of Jogimunda Rajendra Meher Higher Secondary School of the district. Both the lecturers had got the job by submitting fake certificates from Sambalpur University.
The incident came to fore during the verification of their documents. Based on the report of the principal, the State Higher Education Department issued a letter for the suspension of the two lecturers. A complaint in this regard has been lodged at Patnagarh police station by the college management. Both the fake lecturers have been asked to return the entire salary that they have received as block grants from the college management.
The district administration of Balangir has recently dismissed four government teachers who had reportedly got the job by furnishing fake educational certificates. The accused teachers were identified as Sanjit Pani Mahanand, Mrinmayee Panda, Biranchi Prasad Nayak and Alma Toppo. While Panda was nabbed by police, others are on the run fearing arrest.
Worth mentioning, the authorities are undertaking the complete scrutiny of the documents submitted by teachers in the district after a fake certificate racket was busted in the city.
