Bhubaneswar, January 20: Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, addressing the State-Level Youth Red Cross Education and Training Camp at Rama Devi Women’s University, appealed the youth to develop a spirit of service, compassion, and social responsibility.

He emphasized that youth engagement is crucial for the nation's progress, not just in material terms but in moral integrity and social harmony.

Dr. Kambhampati highlighted the Red Cross's vital role in disaster management, health education, and blood donation, praising its contributions in Odisha. He also lauded the state’s “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Odisha” initiative, which aims to combat anemia among students, especially in remote areas, and promote gender equality.

The Governor emphasized that the Youth Red Cross volunteers play a key role in service to society and equip themselves with essential skills in primary care, disaster preparedness, and health awareness. He concluded by noting that such efforts contribute to a prosperous Odisha and a strong India.

The event was also addressed by Kali Prasanna Mohapatra, Director of Higher Education, and Prof. Chandi Charan Rath, Vice-Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University.
