Puri, Sept 1: In view of maintaining peace and tranquility at the Anand Bazar in Puri, the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has deployed Ex-servicemen in the premises.
At least 20 retired Army personnel were engaged on duty in the Anand Bazaar on Sunday after they were briefed on the nature of duty especially regarding the hospitality to the visitors.
According to the SJTA sources, deployment of Ex-Servicemen in the Anand Bazar is a part of reformation in controlling the crowd. The decision was taken by the temple managing committee meeting. Deployment of Ex-Army personnel here will ensure peace in the temple premises with preserving the traditions and sanctity of the temple.
The team will proactively work in the Anand Bazar in three shifts who wil take account of the quality of Maha Prasad, trespass of outsiders, sale of stale and lower standar abadha with keeping discipline in the vicinity, said an official of the SJTA.
