Puri, June 10: The exhibition at the parking lot of Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Centre in Puri resumed on Sunday evening. Different beshas (attire or decoration) of Lord Jagannath were on display at the exhibition centre since January 17 this year, coinciding the grand opening of the Shree Jagannath Heritage Corridor.
However, the company assigned the job had discontinued the display at exhibition centre from June 5 after the defeat of BJD in recent elections that triggered widespread resentment among devotees, servitors and visitors to the pilgrim town.
The centre had plunged into darkness after the electricity supply was snapped. The exhibition centre reopened last evening after the district administration directed the concerned company to continue the show.
The discontinuation of the exhibition came close on the heels of removal of focus and beautification lights outside Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The lights were restored and reinstalled on Saturday after the intervention of district administration.
