Athamallik, June 19: The Athamallik Excise Department has successfully apprehended a liquor vendor from the Tileiswar area under Athamallik. During the operation, officials seized more than 100 litres of illicit country liquor from his possession.

According to reports, the same accused had earlier managed to escape during a raid conducted on the 14th, in which nearly 5,000 litres of liquor was targeted for seizure.

In a related action, two other individuals were also caught with country-made liquor during separate checks in the area.

When questioned about the purpose of producing the liquor, the accused businessman Arun Biswal of Tileiswar stated that he had prepared it for labourers engaged in well-digging work and claimed that it was not meant for sale.
