Bhubaneswar, March 11: Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will set up six hospitals in Odisha following the increase in the number of workers.
Now, treatment is available in six ESIC hospitals in Odisha and a proposal has been approved for setting up six new hospitals and transforming the existing hospitals into super speciality hospitals at a budget of Rs 1000 crore.
It will provide qualitative treatment to around 1.30 crore beneficiaries across the state.
Initiatives have been taken to set up 100-bed hospitals in Berhampur, Paradip, Balasore and Jharsuguda. The construction work is going on for two hospitals in Bhubaneswar and Duburi near Chandikhol while land acquisition has been completed for hospitals in Balasore and Jharsuguda, said senior official of ESIC.
The existing six ESIC hospitals are functioning in Bhubaneswar, Choudwar, Sundargarh, JK Pur along with two corporate hospitals in Rourkela and Angul.
