England Crush Indian Cricket Team By Nine Wickets To Secure Maiden Bilateral T20 Series Win

England batters destroyed Indian bowlers securing historic series victory

Bristol witnessed a dominant display of power hitting on Thursday as England crushed India by nine wickets in their fourth T20I encounter. This brutal victory handed the hosts an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series following an initial washed-out game. India's latest defeat unfortunately prolongs their winless streak under the fresh leadership of captain Shreyas Iyer.

Breaking a long drought, England finally secured their first bilateral T20I series triumph over India involving multiple games. Previously, the Indian squad had completely dominated this rivalry, winning five out of six bilateral T20 series matchups against their English opponents. This result marks a sharp decline for the visitors. Historically, India's last major bilateral failures on English soil happened back in 2018, making this recent collapse a rare modern setback for the Men in Blue.

Defending a total of 159 proved impossible for the visiting bowlers. English openers made incredibly quick work of the run chase, wrapping up the game in just 13.5 overs. Skipper Harry Brook played a fiery knock, blasting 79 runs off a mere 35 deliveries with multiple boundaries. He found fantastic support from Phil Salt, who contributed a rapid 59 runs off 42 balls.

Captain Fights A Lone Battle

Earlier in the day, Indian batters struggled significantly to build solid partnerships. Shreyas Iyer stood firm against the hostile pace attack, remaining unbeaten with a gritty 80 runs off 49 balls. Unfortunately, he lacked steady support from his teammates at the crease. Young batting prospect Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fell cheaply for 15 runs to fast bowler Jofra Archer. Both Archer and Josh Tongue claimed two wickets each, perfectly restricting the opposition's scoring rate. India will now try to save face in the final match.
