Bhubaneswar, December 4: The Odisha government is set to host the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 from December 5 to 7 in Puri. This event will unite global and national leaders to shape India’s energy future, marking a significant step in the state-led energy transformation.

Modeled after the COP Summit, GELS 2025 aims to become India’s primary platform for long-term energy strategy discussions. It will feature representatives from the Union government, 15 Indian states, and over 30 energy experts.

The summit’s theme, "Powering India: Sufficiency, Balance, Innovation," highlights three key pillars:

  • Sufficiency: Ensuring affordable and reliable power for all.
  • Balance: Aligning environmental needs with economic growth.
  • Innovation: Advancing technology, finance, and policy.

Discussions will cover crucial topics such as power trading, energy storage, nuclear power, and AI in energy systems. Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo called GELS 2025 "India’s COP for the energy sector," emphasizing its role in driving innovation and federal cooperation.
