Bhubaneswar, November 17: Odisha BJP in-charge Vijay pal Singh Tomar on Monday said that no expansion in Mohan Charan Majhi’s Cabinet will be done now and appointments to the State-run boards and corporations will be declared soon once the Central leadership okays the list prepared by the State BJP.

“Chairpersons of different corporations and boards in Odisha will be appointed very soon. The State BJP has already prepared a list and it awaits the nod of the Central leadership,” Tomar told media persons in Bhubaneswar.

He, however, said that no expansion in the Mohan Majhi cabinet will be carried out now.

“There will be no reshuffle in the Ministry in Odisha now,” said Tomar.

Meanwhile, the Chairpersons for two major commissions – State Commission for Women and Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) have already been appointed.

Though the BJP Government has completed nearly 1.5 years in Odisha, Chairpersons of many boards and corporations are still to be appointed. The State has as many as 37 corporations and many boards.

The delay in Mohan Charan Majhi’s Ministry reshuffle and appointments in boards and corporations appears to be a result of multiple administrative and political considerations and compulsions - from performance reviews to organisational restructuring and coordination with Central leadership.
