Bhubaneswar, April 8: Body of a girl was found near Dakhinakali Temple at Lingipur under Dhauli police limits in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Hinjilikatu area of Ganjam district and was staying in Sisupalgarh area. However, police also seized two bikes parked near the body. Based on the bike number, police detained the girl’s lover and his two friends in this connection.
The girl had eloped with her lover four months back and was staying in a rented house in Sisupalgarh. However, her lover might have killed her over any issue. It has been suspected that, while they were on their way to destroy the body, which may have fallen off the bike. The trio, fearing arrest, left the body and fled from the spot without bikes, said police sources.
“We have detained three youths including the lover of the girl. The body has been sent for autopsy and further investigation is on to ascertain the more details regarding the murder”, said police.
