Bhubaneswar, February 21: The ongoing 'CYBER KAVACH' operation has intensified its focus on cyber fraud in the central range districts of Odisha and traced ₹2 crorein fraudulent money during the operation, as confirmed by Dr. Satyajit Naik, Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Central Range, Cuttack.

The operation has been successfully conducted under the leadership of DGP Y.B. Khurania, said Dr. Satyajit Naik

Dr. Naik emphasized the authorities' commitment to dismantling mule account networks and protecting citizens from the rising threat of cybercrimes. "We are stepping up our efforts to secure Odisha's digital space. This operation is at the forefront of combating cyber fraud and mule bank accounts," he stated.

As part of the operation,19 cases have been registered across six districts (Puri, Khordha, Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jajpur), with a total of 824 accounts verified.

In addition to this, the police have served 185 notices to individuals linked to these accounts.

In Nayagarh, the authorities have withdrawn eight cheque-linked accounts, which are currently under further investigation.

The Central Range comprises seven districts- Cuttack, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, and Jajpur.

The ongoing operation is seen as a significant step in tackling cyber fraud and ensuring greater digital security across the region.
