Keonjhar, Jan 3: Keonjhar forest officials on Wednesday busted a elephant tusk smuggling gang and seized two jumbo tusks from the peddler.
Two members of the gang were held following seizure of the wildlife products from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Babuli Haibru, a resident of Satakosia village and Kalandi Sankhuala from the Sundaria village under the Anandpur Forest Division.
Forest sources said, the duo had treasured the tusks and waited for a big deal. On getting specific clues, a sleuths of the forest officials conducted raids on two different locations. Meanwhile, two tusks were recovered from the peddlers.
The accused persons would be forwarded for judicial remand after further interrogation, said the Anandpur DFO.
