Cuttack, Dec 10:The Barang Police has arrested a woman on the charges of killing her mother-in-law on the charges of bludgeoning her to death with an iron rod.
The incident took place on December 5 in the Madhupur area under the Baranga police limits in Cuttack district on a silly matter.
The daughter in law, identified as Saraswati Sahu killed her mother-in-law Sabitri Sahu for merely switching the bed light, the investigation revealed.
Additional DCP Anil Kumar Mishra said, “The oral duel between Saraswati and Sabirti broke out when the former wanted the room’s light to be switched off, but the latter refused to do so. Following this, Saraswati killed her mother-in-law by attacking her with an iron rod. She then washed the blood stains on her saree and hid the iron rod. Today she was arrested.”
