Khordha, Nov 15: In an unfortunate incident, an elderly woman was brutally killed by her son in Mangalpur village under Banapur police limits in Odisha’s Khordha district on Tuesday.
The deceased woman has been identified as Satyabhama Behera (71).
According to the information, Satyabhama’s son, Banamali Behera who was said to be suffering from mental illness and an alcoholic too. He used to come home in an inebriated condition everyday. However, on Tuesday Banamali attacked his mother with a sharp weapon and killed on the spot.
The exact cause of his brutal act is yet to be known.
“My brother is mentally unstable, for that reason his wife has been staying at her parent's house with her kids. Coming home in an inebriated condition is his regular job. It is yet to be known that why he killed my mother, said Pramila Behera, deceased woman’s daughter.
Being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body and arrested the accused.
