Kalahandi, July 31: In a gruesome incident, an elderly woman was allegedly hacked to death by her neighbor in the Koksara locality of Odisha’s Kalahandi district in the wee hours today.
The deceased woman has been identified as Kalindri Tandi and the incident was reported from Majhiguda village under Koksara police limits in the district.
As per reports, Kalindri was returning home when the accused, identified as Punji, attacked her with an axe. She sustained grievous injuries on her head in the attack. The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime.
After learning about the incident, Kalindri’s family members arrived at the spot and rushed her to Koksara Hospital where the attending doctors declare her dead.
The exact reason behind the heinous murder is yet to be known.
Upon getting the information, Koksara police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the matter.
