Nabarangpur, Nov 13: An elderly woman reportedly died after being administered wrong injection by a village quack in Koshamuguda block of Nabarangpur district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Dayamani Bisoi of Chirma village in the district.
According to the information, Dayamani’s husband Buxi Bisoi took her to a village quack after she complained of headache and sickness. The quack Samaru Harijan gave her some medicines and administered an injection. However, soon after taking the injection, Dayamani’s condition suddenly worsened and she succumbed within a few minutes.
Buxi, after the incident, called his family members and also lodged a police complaint alleging Harijan’s medical negligence and administration of wrong injection are the causes of Dayamani’s death. Police reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
“My wife had a minor headache and sickness. I lost my wife for the wrong treatment of the quack. When I blamed him for my wife’s death, he tried to lure me with money and said not to share about the incident with anyone. However, I have lodged a police complaint and he should be punished”, said Dayamani’s husband Buxi.
