Keonjhar, Sept 28: In tragic incident, an elderly woman and her daughter died after reportedly being bitten by a venomous snake in Patna area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district.

The deceased have been identified as Phulmani Naik and her daughter Yatri Naik and the incident has been reported from Barbil under Patna police limits in the district.

As per reports, the mother-daughter duo was sleeping on the floor of their house when a venomous snake bit them

Initially, their family took them to a quack instead of a hospital. Following the quack's treatment, Yatri's condition deteriorated, and she was later taken to Thakurmunda Hospital, where she tragically passed away.

Phulmani Naik returned to her home in Kashipur, where she also died shortly afterward.
