Angul, Mar 3: In a tragic incident, an elderly man was allegedly thrashed to death by his son over a family feud in Bantala area of Odisha’s Angul district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Biprabar Bhoi and the incident has been reported from Nuabhuin village under Bantala police limits in the district.
As per reports, the accused identified as Balaram Bhoi often used to abuse his father over trivial issues and beat him. A quarrel ensued between the father-son duo over a family feud. It later took a violent turn when Balaram, in fit of rage, started thrashing his father with a stick leading to his death on the spot. Following this, he fled from the spot fearing getting caught.
Later this morning, some villagers spotted the body lying covered with a cloth and informed police.
On getting the information, police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem.
A probe has been launched into the matter and efforts are on to nab the accused, said the police.
