Angul, Aug 4: An elderly man has got bullet injuries in Angul forest, allegedly shot by poacher on Sunday.
The incident took place in the Janakpur forest under the Thakurgada Range in the Athmallik Sub-division.
The victim, identified as Dhruba Naik, was hospitalized in a critical situation.
According to reports, Dhruba was collecting mushrooms from the village forest. Meanwhile, an unknown miscreant opened fire instantly. Following this, he fell in a pool of blood who was later rushed to the hospital by the locals.
On being informed, the Forest Department and Thakurgarh police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
