Cuttack, Apr 3: In a tragic incident, an elderly couple was killed after a speeding car hit their motorcycle in Athagarh locality of Odisha’s Cuttack district this morning.
The identity of the deceased persons is yet to be ascertained.
As per reports, the mishap took place on the Puruna Cuttack – Sambalpur road when the couple was on their way to Cuttack from Dhenkanal to see their grandson.
A speeding car hit the motorcycle on which the couple was going and fled the spot. As a result, both the husband and wife were killed on the spot.
On getting the information, Athagarh police arrived at the spot and seized the bodies. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
