Puri, Nov 21: Elaborate arrangements for the visitors are afoot in Pilgrim Town Puri ahead of Panchuka, scheduled from tomorrow.
A special session of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA) was held on Tuesday wherein the Chief Administrator, Ranjan Kumar Dash reviewed the field-level arrangements in view of a crowd of visitors during the Panchuka and Kartik Purnima.
According to the resolutions laid down in the meeting, all basic amenities including the provision of safe drinking water and healthcare facilities for the visitors will be given top priority. Elderly and ailing persons will be facilitated to pass through special queues for darshan with ease whereas the Divyangs will be carried to the sanctum sanctorum through a special corridor.
Similarly, special provisions are being made available for ‘Habisyalis’ who are going to visit the Puri Jagannath temple in the holy month of Kartik this time for performing the ‘Kartika Brata’ during the Panchuka from the Wednesday.
The SJTA authorities have braced up to host at least 3,000 Habisyalis this year. A multi-storey building for Habisyalis was inaugurated at Narendra Kona by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik last year. While Brundabati Niwas will accommodate over 1500 Habisyalis, arrangements are being at other places also.
Lifeguards have been deployed at the holy Narendra pond for the safety of Habisyalis.
Responding to media persons, SJTA Chief Administrator Dash said, special arrangements will be made for Kartik darshan and Radha Pada Darshan of the deities at Shree Jagannath Temple.
