According to Food and Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, around 95% of eligible beneficiaries have already completed the E-KYC process. The remaining 5% have been urged to complete the formalities at the earliest to avoid being dropped from the scheme.

Highlighting a major policy shift, the minister noted that no new ration cards had been issued in the state for the past 13 years. However, following the formation of the new government, approximately 17 lakh new applications were received. So far, 6 lakh ration cards have been issued, and another 15 lakh have been approved for distribution.

To facilitate the process, online applications are being accepted not only through block offices but also at Jana Seva Kendras (public service centers). The minister acknowledged the growing rush at these centers, attributing it to the public’s renewed trust in the new administration. He assured that steps will be taken to manage the crowds and streamline the process.
