Bhadrak, Mar 16: The Tihidi Citizen Forum comprising members from different organizations in Tihidi block of Bhadrak district on Saturday observed an eight-hour-bandh over Notified Area Council (NAC) status for the block.
The forum organized the bandh in the main market area, starting from 6 am and ending at 2 pm.
The bandh severely impacted daily life as shops and businesses remained closed, and vehicular traffic was disrupted. Government offices, private businesses, educational institutions, and shops were all shut during the bandh period.
Protesters were actively picketing at key locations and holding demonstrations at Tihidi Block. They expressed grievances, claiming that Tihidi has met all the criteria for NAC status for several years but has been neglected.
