Bhubaneswar, May 29: In an odd incident of corruption, a Deputy Director of the Enforcement Directorate(ED) was caught redhanded by CBI in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The ED official, identified as Chintan Raghubanshi was detained by the CBI sleuths while he was receiving Rs 20 Lakh cash from a Bhubaneswar-based businessman in the afternoon.
According to the reports, ED Deputy Director Raghubanshi was allegedly blackmailing the ace bizman threatning ED raids in his house and orgnisations. A deal worth Rs 1 crore was filalized between them not to conduct any raids. Meanwhile, a team of CBI picked Raghubanshi this evening with Rs 20 lakh bribe, while he was receiving it as a part of the deal at a hotel in Sahid Nagar.
The recovered amount was seized while the accused was taken to the CBI custody for further interrogation.
