Puri, July 16: East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the provision of special trains from various parts of the state, as well as neighbouring states, to accommodate the influx of passengers for the 'Suna Besha', 'Adharpana' and 'Niladri Bije' ceremonies in Puri.

In addition to the regular train services to and from Puri, 43 special trains will run for the 'Suna Besha' ceremony, and 33 special trains will operate for the 'Adharapana' ceremony, ensuring the convenience of passengers traveling for these significant events. Special trains have been arranged from almost all parts of the state to facilitate attendance at the holy festival.
For the Rath Yatra Festival at Puri, East Coast Railway had earlier announced 315 special trains. From 5th July to 15th July 2024, 239 special trains have already been provided, covering the Gundicha Yatra to Bahuda Yatra.

Special trains will run towards Puri from Paradeep, Angul, Bhadrak, Junagarh Road, Khurda Road, Daspalla, Sompeta, Palasa, Kendujhargarh, Gunupur, Jagadalpur, Sonepur, and Sambalpur for the 'Suna Besha' Festival. Similarly, trains from Paradeep, Angul, Bhadrak, Daspalla, Palasa, Kendujhargarh, and Khurda Road will operate to Puri for the 'Adharapana' festivals.
To manage the additional passenger rush, special trains will also run towards Bhadrak, Paradeep, Angul, Palasa, Kendujhargarh, Daspalla, and Brahmapur from Puri on 'Adharapana', 'Niladribije' days.

The Ministry of Railways has implemented various facilities to ensure the convenience of devotees and pilgrims. A round-the-clock control room has been established to address passenger issues and ensure smooth train operations. Effective announcements at stations and additional ticket booking counters have been set up to facilitate the smooth boarding and ticketing process.
