Bhubaneswar, September 28: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Monday announced the temporary augmentation of coaches in several trains to clear extra rush of passengers during the upcoming festive season.
According to an ECoR release, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 18463 Bhubaneswar–KSR Bengaluru Prasanthi Express from 1 October to 31 October 2026, while Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar Prasanthi Express will be augmented with one Third AC coach from 2 October to 1 November 2026.
Similarly, Train No. 12819 Bhubaneswar–Anand Vihar Terminal Odisha Sampark Kranti Express will be augmented with one Third AC coach from 3 October to 31 October 2026, and Train No. 12820 Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhubaneswar Odisha Sampark Kranti Express from 6 October to 3 November 2026.
Further, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 22879 Bhubaneswar–Tirupati Super Fast Express from 3 October to 31 October 2026, and Train No. 22880 Tirupati–Bhubaneswar Super Fast Express from 4 October to 1 November 2026.
Similarly, Train Nos. 18447 Bhubaneswar–Jagdalpur Hirakhand Express will be augmented with one Third AC coach from 1 October to 31 October 2026 and Train No. 18448 Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express from 2 October to 1 November 2026.
Train Nos. 18301/18302 Sambalpur–Rayagada–Sambalpur Intercity Express will be augmented with one AC Chair Car coach from 1 October to 31 October 2026 in both directions.
Further, Train Nos. 18417 Puri–Gunupur Express will be augmented with one AC Chair Car coach from 1 October to 31 October 2026 and 18418 Gunupur–Puri Express from 2 October to 1 November 2026.
Train Nos. 20832 Sambalpur–Shalimar Mahima Gosain Express will also be augmented with one Sleeper Class coach from 1 October to 29 October 2026 and 20831 Shalimar–Sambalpur Mahima Gosain Express from 2 October to 30 October 2026.
Similarly, Train Nos. 12893 Bhubaneswar–Purnakatak Intercity Super Fast Express will be augmented with two General (UR) coaches from 1 October to 31 October 2026 and 12894 Purnakatak–Bhubaneswar Intercity Super Fast Express from 2 October to 1 November 2026, respectively.
In addition, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train Nos. 20471 Shri Ganganagar–Puri Super Fast Express from 4 October to 25 October 2026 and 20472 Puri–Shri Ganganagar Super Fast Express from 7 October to 28 October 2026.
The temporary augmentation of coaches will provide additional berths to passengers travelling on these important routes and help accommodate the growing travel demand during the period, said the ECoR.
