Bhubaneswar, May 23: The Election Commission of India will deploy 102 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) for the third phase of simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha, said state Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Thursday.
Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Khordha, Keonjhar and Sambalpur Lok Sabha constituencies and 42 Assembly seats under them will go to polls in the third phase of voting scheduled on May 25.
A total of 98.41 lakh voters including 48.30 lakh men, 46.18 lakh and women, comprising 21 percent youth voters, are eligible to exercise their franchise in 10, 551 polling booths.
A total of 383 MLA candidates including 339 male, 44 female candidates and 64 MP aspirants including 55 male candidates, 9 female candidates are in the fray, the CEO said.
Out of the 10,551 polling booths, 1500 booth will be managed by all-women personnel. 70,000 polling staff will be deployed for election management.
