ECI revises Odisha electoral roll revision schedule, final voters' list on September 21

Bhubaneswar, July 31: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls in Odisha, with the final electoral roll set to be published on September 21, 2026.

The Commission has retained July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date for the revision exercise.

As per the revised programme, the period for filing claims and objections will continue from July 5 to August 19, 2026. During this time, eligible citizens can apply for the inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls, seek corrections to existing entries, or raise objections regarding incorrect or ineligible entries.

The ECI has scheduled the scrutiny of applications, issuance of notices, hearings and disposal of claims and objections from July 5 to September 17, 2026. Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will examine all applications and dispose of them in accordance with the prescribed procedures.

Following the completion of the verification process and disposal of all claims and objections, the final electoral roll will be published on September 21, 2026.

The Special Intensive Revision is aimed at ensuring that the electoral rolls remain accurate and up to date by enrolling eligible voters while removing duplicate, incorrect and ineligible entries.

The exercise is part of the Commission's ongoing efforts to maintain a transparent, reliable and error-free electoral database.

The Election Commission has appealed to all eligible voters to participate actively in the revision process by verifying their details and submitting necessary claims or objections within the stipulated timeline to avoid discrepancies before the publication of the final voters' list.
