Bhubaneswar, June 8: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday has recommended disciplinary action against Odisha’s Senior IPS Officer, Ashish Kumar Singh, for taking medical leave with misrepresentation of facts despite his good physical and mental health.
On the other hand, the ECI revoked the suspension of another IPS Officer, DS Kutey, Special secretary to Odisha Chief Minister.Kutey was put under suspension and during the time he was asked to report to the office of Resident Commissioner, Odisha in Delhi, for his alleged undue interference in Odisha election. Kutey, with the present order, has been asked to report to the Odisha Chief Secretary for further posting, as deemed fit.
Worth mentioning, the Special secretary to Odisha Chief Minister, was suspended by the ECI on May 28 for “unduly interfering in conduct of election,”. The Commission had also ordered medical examination of Ashish Singh by a special medical board of the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. Meanwhile, the special medical board of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar has declared Singh physically and mentally fit, in its report.
