Exciting scenes unfolded at Kavisamrat Stadium as Maratha XI secured a hard-fought victory over Sambalpur KFC to reach the next stage. Football fans in Bhanjanagar witnessed a thrilling quarter-final match in the ongoing All India Bhanja Trophy. Maratha XI defeated a strong Sambalpur KFC side with a final score of 2-1. This victory ensures their spot in the highly anticipated semi-final round. The stadium was packed with spectators who cheered for every move, adding to the intense atmosphere on the field.

Match Highlights and Key Moments

Sambalpur KFC started the game with high energy and dominated the early possession. However, they struggled to break through the solid defense of Maratha XI. Capitalizing on the local crowd's support, Maratha took the lead in the 33rd minute. Jagannath Tudu found the back of the net after receiving a precise pass from Sonu. Just after halftime, in the 49th minute, Sonu set up another goal. This time, Balaram scored to double Maratha's lead to 2-0.

Sambalpur fought back in the second half. A foul inside the box by a Maratha defender gave them a lifeline in the 66th minute. Sushant Nayak calmly converted the penalty kick to make the score 2-1. Despite launching several attacks in the final minutes, Sambalpur could not find an equalizer and was eliminated from the tournament.
