During the inspection, Funkwal took stock of the progress of various redevelopment and infrastructure enhancement projects being undertaken at the station. He directed officials to ensure timely completion of the works while taking necessary measures to minimise inconvenience to passengers.
The General Manager also inspected passenger amenities and reviewed the arrangements being made for the convenience of rail users. He stressed the need for regular monitoring and continuous improvement of passenger facilities at Puri Railway Station, which caters to a large number of pilgrims and tourists throughout the year.
Funkwal also checked the quality of drinking water available at the station. He directed officials to strictly maintain the prescribed quality parameters and ensure regular testing and monitoring to provide safe and hygienic drinking water to passengers.
The Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division, along with senior officers from East Coast Railway Headquarters and Khurda Road Division, accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.
