Balasore, June 22: In a shocking incident, a man killed his elderly parents in an inebriated condition over a land dispute.
The incident has been reported from Garasanga village under Simulia police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district.
According to the report, One Mamata Mallick had lodged a missing complaint of her parents Bulei Behera and Champa Behera with Simulia police. She also alleged that her brother Ramesh Behera of killing her parents over a land dispute.
Based on the complaint, police started investigation and recovered Bulei’s body buried in front of his house while Champa is yet to be traced.
Ramesh is suspected of discarding his mother's body in a nearby pond and fleeing to evade arrest. Sources indicate his involvement in the smuggling of ganja and liquor. He had strained relationships with his parents and siblings due to land disputes. His wife and child left him 17 years ago because of his abusive behavior towards them. Additionally, he was known to physically assault his parents while under the influence of alcohol.
