Puri, Feb 12: A drone was seen hovering over Puri Jagannath Temple ‘no flying zone’ on Monday, despite restrictions on flying any unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over certain areas in and around Puri Srimandir, earlier imposed by the district Police Administration.
Interestingly, the remotely operated robotic aircraft system managed to give a slip to the local police.
According to an eyewitness, the drone was spotted by some locals while it was flying high in the air and was capturing videos of the 12th-century shrine, including Grand Road.
After the device attracted the attention of the police, there was a buzz among the residents. The security lapse has raised the eyebrows of many devotees.
Police immediately launched a probe into the incident to nab the wrongdoer but to no avail.
