Bhubaneswar, October 29: The Nuapada by-election has turned into a fiercely contested battle for the three main political parties – BJP, BJD, and Congress. Each party’s top leaders are fully engaged in their efforts to secure a win for their respective candidates, with door-to-door canvassing and grand processions adding to the growing intensity of the campaign.

Voters in Nuapada are eagerly awaiting visits from both Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the opposition leader, and BJD President Naveen Patnaik.

According to sources within the BJD, BJD President Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to address a public rally in Komana on November 3.  In addition to that, Naveen would also make a roadshow from Khariar Road to Nuapada is being planned for November 7, though final details are yet to be confirmed. It has been assured, however, that Patnaik will make at least two visits to Nuapada during the election period.

As the campaign intensifies, BJD supporters have taken to social media, sharing various AI-generated videos to rally support. Patnaik had earlier announced his intention to visit the constituency, with party sources confirming that these visits are crucial to maintaining BJD's stronghold in the by-election.

The first public meeting on November 3 in Komana will serve as a key event for the party, where Patnaik will energize the base in support of BJD candidate Snehangini Chhuria. Meanwhile, it’s speculated that Chief Minister Majhi may visit Nuapada in the last days of the campaign to beg his support.

Meanwhile, all candidates are fully engaged in the campaign. BJP’s Jay Dholakia has his family and relatives at the forefront of the campaign, with several MLAs and ministers making their presence felt across the constituency.

On the other hand, BJD’s Snehangini Chhuria enjoys the backing of senior party leaders, including both the party’s veterans and youth wings, who are conducting extensive outreach.

Congress candidate Ghasiram Majhi is being supported by PCC President Bhakta Charan Das and other key leaders, with prominent star campaigners expected to join soon.

As the election day nears, all three parties are pulling out all the stops, setting the stage for a high-stakes contest in Nuapada.
