Puri, March 12: A miniature aircraft-like drone was fished out by a group of fishermen during fishing in the Bay of Bengal near the Baliharachandi Beach in Odisha’s Puri on Tuesday.
The big-size and multi-coloured drone was a crowd puller on the Penthakata beach, after it was displayed on the sea-beach at Penthakata area in the Puri town.
Sources said, the drone which scripts SHIKARA on it and equipped with various devices was stuck to the fishing net. Subsequently, it was brought ashore at Pethakata and the Sea-beach police was informed in this connetion. However, it is yet to be ascertained whether the soft devices, installed with the flying-equipment are functional or defunct.
The details regarding the device and its flyer are also under investigation. However, locals suspect the drone from its technicalities and colour, as a spying or remote sensing device devised by the Defence wing.
