Cuttack, Sept 16: The commionerate police yesterday arrested notorious criminal Manoj Moharana after an encounter near Uttamapur area under Sadar Police limits here.
Moharana has sustained bullet injury on his leg and has been rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Sources said, Manoj was wanted in connection with the recent dacoity case at Kandarpur area in which a businessman was looted of valuables.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by the Inspector-In-Charge of Kandarpur Police Station intercepted Manoj near Uttamapur.
On seeing the police team, Manoj opened fire and was injured after the cops retaliated.
Worth mentioning, Manoj is involved in several criminal activities and further investigation in this connection is underway.
